I'm sure many road-weary Rt. 66 travellers found this a welcome sight.

They just don't make animated neon like they used to.

The Denver Grill has been at the center of controversy, as it sits on the spot the new event center is to be built. Is it still there? I'll have to go check.

Atlas Life Sign - The only remaining vertical neon sign left in Tulsa.

This was restored in 1992, but already has problems with lower half of the neon.

This beautiful sign has sadly been removed. A group of Rt. 66 preservationists were trying to relocated it. Not sure if they suceeded.

I've heard that Nelson's has shut down. They had the best chicken-fried steak.

I just love the generic name “Industrial Equipment Co.” ...it's like ACME.

Looks like the neon on this one is still pretty good. I'll try to get a shot at night.

Super Market still has it's neon intact. I love the brick base.

We had one of these in Brandon, MS where I grew up. The sign didn't look a bit different.
